Apple Cider Vinegar is has many health benefits such as anti-infective properties both orally or topically, digestive aid, potassium boost, blood sugar control, weight loss and general wellness.

Digestion
Although studies of ACV on Equines has not yet been undertaken, research on other species has shown that taken internally, ACV can slow the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream which in turn aids the absorption of minerals. This may be beneficial to those Equines that have difficulty processing sugars such as those prone to laminitic episodes. It can also ease arthritis symptoms and help to dissolve calcium deposits.

Topical Uses
When hoof form and function is less than optimal, ACV can be used topically to help treat symptoms of Thrush, a bacterial infection that thrives in anaerobic environments. The application of a mixture of water and ACV applied to the hooves after cleaning out debris will help to change the pH of the environment that the bacteria is living in and slow the rate of decay. Of course the benefits of ACV use don’t stop with the horse, topical uses for humans also include athletes foot, thrush, rashes and acne just to name a few.

BENEFITS • USES
Hippocrates used vinegar to manage wounds, while medical practitioners in the 1700s used it to treat everything from poison ivy and croup to stomach aches. Vinegar was even used to treat diabetes.
Prevent food contamination by soaking your produce in ACV prior to storage.

Choosing the right ACV
In order to be effective, you must use a raw, organic, unfiltered and unpasteurised Apple Cider Vinegar with the ‘mother’ in it. This is seen as a cloudy substance at the bottom of the bottle. The ‘mother’ is an excellent source of live microbial.
